Ep2: Jerusalem Day 1

Asslamualaikum This post will showing our first Umrah with Jerusalem Visiting Trip

We started at Suvannabhumi Airport BKK to Amman with Royal Jordanian Airline around Midnight and spend 10 hours in airplane. Alhumdulillah at that time my boy is 1.1 ys. so we still can ask for bassinet ( Reserve at the check-in counter first in case that have so many infant passengers).

We reached at Queen Alia International Airport around 5 am after that we headed to Hotel in Amman for dropping the luggage that we would not use it during visiting Jerusalem. We crossed over the King Hussain border and check into hotel in Jerusalem after we waited for long time at the Israeli Immigration Checking Point ( really boring about this but thinking about visiting Al Aqsa was a relieve !)

First of all, we made visit to “Dome of the Rock” golden dome that so many people was confused it with Masjid Al Aqsa. Both Dome of the Rock Mosque and Al-Aqsa Mosque is situated in the same compound, called al-Haram ash-Sharif (“the Noble Sanctuary”). They are about less than a kilometer in distance. Along with seventeen gates and four minarets

Inside Dome of the Rock was under construction at that time but cannot vanish the beauty of it. For the golden dome (as seen from outside) was built exactly above the rock where the transportation of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during the miraculous Night Journey night to what is referred to as “the farthest Mosque” as mention in Surah Al-Isra’ (Noble Quran Chapter 17).

***For more info about “the Dome of the Rock” was constructed by the order of Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik between 688 and 691 CE***

After that we went to visit and prayed Maqrib and Isha there at Masjid Al Aqsa, The first Qiblat in Islam. This Masjid is one of three Masjids that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) urged every Muslim to come and pray there after Masjid Haram (Makkah ) and Masjid Nabawi (Madinah) according to the authentic Hadith reported by Abu Said Al-Khudri
that allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said, “Journeys may not be made (for visit) to any mosque but three: Masjid Haram , my mosque (Masjid Nabawi) and Masjid Al Aqsa.” [Ahmed 11483, Bukhari 1197, Muslim 827, Ibn e Majah 1410]

This was our first time here, we were really excited about this. The weather there was really breezy cold, my son loved it. ( He tried to take off his sweater so many times, once he did it == Big Smile and LOL ) 555+

Really tired with these long day …so slept tight and made ourselves ready for next trip to come inshaAllah.
